5 A-Side Football
Cdt Tate writes the following account:
" We won the first 2 games and drew our 3rd game to see us reach the semi finals against Havant which unfortunately we lost 6-1. Cadet Tate and I scored a lot for us, Cpl Martin scored a belter from within his own half and Sgt Ward helped with the scoring too. Our first game was a test to see how well we played together as a team, which went well because we beat 424 (Southampton) Squadron 4-0! By the second game we were used to playing together and won that also and we even found time to help out other teams from two different squadrons who didn't have enough players."
Cadet Thomas writes the following account:
"The first game we played was against Fareham and a bit of a shambles! For us, it was more of a warm up and as a result we got slaughtered by the opposition! We won our second game 1-0 because of one fluky goal by me as I was supposed to be playing in defence! The next few games were ok and Cpl Presland scored who was also supposed to be in defence, so who knows what happened to our midfielders and striker! I then moved to midfield were Cdt Martin and I made a good team, setting the goals up and putting the ball in the net twice! We then played Southampton, which we were all dreading. Although we didn't do to badly, we did lost, but our team was strong and we all had great fun!"
