The third Aim of the Air Training Corps defined in the Royal Warrant is:

To foster the 'Spirit of adventure', and to 'Develop the qualities of leadership and good citizenship'.

1216 (Eastleigh) Squadron is proud of it's tradition of helping in the community. We are regularly involved in a variety of activities including:

  • Marshalling charity fun runs
  • Stewarding at community events 
  • Completing sponsored walks for charity
  • Taking part in the Duke of Edingburgh's Award Scheme, where the Volunteering section is highly relevent
  • Assisting the RAFA in raising money during 'Wings Appeal' week
  • Fund-Raising events for squadron funds which is often to buy and a run a squadron owned minibus
  • Helping the Royal British Legion with their Poppy Appeal
  • Acting as ushers at charity concerts
